Fun Facts:
He applies his kendo knowledge on breathing, footwork and speed of the swing in his tennis.
He met Yukimura in a tennis club when they were 4 yeas old.
In the Junior Tournament when they were in 6th Grade (age 12), he lost to Yukimura and got second place.
After the said tournament, he also met Tezuka and lost to him.
He was a regular in the Tennis Team since his freshman year.
He was in a class with Yanagi during their freshman in middle school.
He is in the same class as Yagyuu during 3rd year of middle school.
Everyday, he wakes up at 4AM.
He does Zen Meditation and Kendo every morning before breakfast.
He also does muscle training every night before sleeping.
He does sword maintenance before going to bed too.
Sanada and music class is famous in Rikkai (probably a negative thing).
Sanada apparently gave everyone in Rikkai a calligraphy. The words written in their respective calligraphies say something about/for them.
Some of the famous Sanada Calligraphy include: “Good Health” (for Yukimura), “Your Pre-Clumsiness” (for Yagyuu), “Open Mind” (for Niou), “Small for Contentment” (for Bunta), “Hard Work” (for Jackal) and “Self-Control Recovery Bow” (for Akaya).
The first person outside Rikkai to receive the famous Sanada Calligraphy is Atobe (he received the said calligraphy during an interview). The calligraphy he received has the words “呉越同舟” meaning enemies and friends working together for one goal.

He and Yanagi share a lot of interests and thus the latter says they get along really well.
When Sanada asked his teammates to punish him after he lost to Echizen in the Kantou Finals, everyone was reluctant to do so but it was Niou who gave him the punishment first by slapping him.
During spring break, all the Rikkai members would go to Yanagi’s pension to train. During summer break, after practice, they would all go to the matsuri held in the shrine near the school.
During winter break, he would make the club members swim in cold.
Akaya is tired of being on the same team as him. Jackal and Bunta both think he is noisy. He is the person Niou can’t get along with the most because of his love for punishment. Even Shiita thinks he is loud and very strict.
Sanada Yukimura’s (a famous figure from the Sengoku Period) had his name divided between Sanada and Yukimura (duh).
When Yukimura was losing hope before, he received Sanada’s Iron Fist Punishment and such a legend has, since then, been passed down within the tennis club members.
In the U-17 Training Camp, he is staying in a room with Sengoku, Ishida and Tachibana.
He has a pet beetle named Fuurinkazan.
Sasuke, his nephew, was the one who caught Fuurinkazan and gave it to him.
He entered Fuurinkazan in the “My Kabu-chan is the best” Cup but lost due to him knocking out his own beetle with his breath.
