Episodes 5 & 6 to feature "The Strongest Pair" & "Betrayal and Bargaining"
The December issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is announcing on Tuesday that the third volume of the Shin Tennis no Ōji-sama (The Prince of Tennis II) OVA vs. Genius 10 original video anime project will ship on February 20, 2015. The first volume shipped on Blu-ray and DVD on October 28, and the second will ship on December 25.
The third volume will include episodes 5 "Saikyō no Pair" (The Strongest Pair) and 6 "Uragiri to Kōshō" (Betrayal and Bargaining). Episode 5 will feature an ending theme song sung by the unit "GIGS" or Ryōma Echizen (Junko Minagawa), Kunimitsu Tezuka (Ryotaro Okiayu), Keigo Atobe (Junichi Suwabe), and Genichirō Sanada (Taiten Kusunoki). Episode 6 will feature a theme song by "Rikkai Young Kan" or Masaharu Niō (Yuuki Masuda), Hiroshi Yagyu (Eisuke Tsuda), Bunta Marui (Naozumi Takahashi), and Akaya Kirihara (Showtaro Morikubo).
The third OVA volume will also include at least three new Hōkago no Ōji-sama (The Prince of After School) anime shorts ("One Tokyo ni Iku sa," "Hiyoshi Ijiri," and "Obake Nantenai sa") and two versions of the clean ending anime sequences. The bonus extras will include a snapshot of U-17 training camp members (Kikumaru, Fuji, Kintarō, and Yūta) taking a break at a drinking fountain, The Prince of After School illustration sheet with a possible Valentine's theme (with Shishido, Ōtori, and Marui), and eight pages of liner notes.
The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs Genius10 is the continuation of the 2012 Shin Tennis no Ōji-sama television anime. It tells the story of Ryōma and the rest of the U-17 Japanese representatives at a training camp.
Director Hideyo Yamamoto is helming the project, and Mitsutaka Hirota is writing the scripts. Akiharu Ishii, Kenji Irie, and Jun Watanabe are all returning for character designs. Cher Watanabe is composing the music, and Takuya Hiramitsu is serving as sound director. Production I.G and M.S.C. are in charge of animation production.
